In 2016, Jim was 56 years old.  Father of five and grandfather of six, Jim travels the United States for work as a technical sales engineer selling computer software to clients.  Spending about half of his work life on the road, Jim prefers to pick hotels that are near a gym.  His preferred gym is a 24-hour fitness chain he is a member of.  His preferred time to go to the gym is early in the morning around 5 or 6 AM.  Aiming for 5 or 6 gym visits each week, Jim has found that between work and family commitments, he averages about 4 times each week.

Jim’s total workout usually takes about an hour and he has decided to only do cardio as warm up.  Some days could be a warm up on a rowing machine.  While other days might end up being jump rope or calisthenics.  It really depends on what the gym has available to facilitate his warm up time.  For the rest of his workout Jim says, “my in-gym routine varies a lot, since I often don’t know what equipment I am going to have available to me. I try to hit at least 2 of the major lifts every workout, plus whatever accessory stuff is available.” – adapted from Nerd Fitness
