Today I was the second test of my new routine. I had committed to go hiking with my friend Scott, and a few others over the weekend. I am still building habits trying to normalize a workout routine but this was an opportunity that I just could not pass up. It was an 18 mile epic hike through The Enchantments in western Washington state. The weather was perfect, the company high-quality, and the autumn scenery beautiful. There was a mountain to hike up and over and a long walk back out to the road where the car was parked.
Needless to say there was no lunges or pushups or anything of the sort. But there was some stretching after the hike at the end of the day back at trailhead and car. Every part of my body was exhausted. But it was so worth it.
