Month 1, Day 20

Daily Priority #1 - Physical Health

Today I woke up the temperature was perfect for a run in Spokane, cool but not cold.  I used putting on my running shoes again as my stimulus.  I considered doing a warm up routine  but wanted to get running.  My morning run had a descent at the start of it so it meant that I would have to run up a hill to finish the run.  Not the end of the world, but not ideal either.  I ran to a local park and when I got there, I did 30 jumping jacks, a quick minute of stretching, 2 sets of 8 pushups (16 total) as well as 1 & 4/5 chin up and 2 & 4/5 pull ups.  It really does make a huge difference to have a bar that works for chin ups and pull ups.  The bar that I had was an overhanging bar as part of the play structure.  It was a little bit low and a little bit thick but I considered it a huge improvement over the bars I have been using the past month.  At the end of my route I arrived back at the house I was staying after running just over a mile.

I stretch for 5 minutes and continued my new routine.  Since I had done lower body yesterday, today was upper body.  I alternated between activities and stretching.  I continued with my 5th day where I took on multiple “sets” of each movement.  2 sets of 16 dumbbell rows (8 each arm, 32 total) using a full backpack as weight, stretch.  Reward time = breakfast of yogurt and granola and internet time.  I also get to work on my laptop using my finally repaired fitdesk today (16 miles, Odometer = 16 miles).

Journey far,

― Joe
