Month 2, Day 43

Daily Priority #1 - Physical Health

Today I again woke up an hour after I wanted after sleeping because I had deprived myself by staying up a couple hours later than I should have.  Nonetheless, there was no doubt in my mind that I was going to complete my morning routine since I have become a morning person.  I put on my running shoes (my stimulus), arm warmers, and running shorts and did a warm up routine of 35 jumping jacks and a couple minutes of stretching.  The run through the outskirts of Spokane in the early morning was very pleasant.  The sun was shining bright and all the grass was coated in a light frost.  In the shadows it was brisk but in the sun it was a brilliant morning for a run.  I headed to my favorite pull up bar, as part of a swing set at a park nearby. I did 3 1/2 pull ups and 2 1/2 chin ups.  I also did 2 sets of 12 push-ups (24 total).  The last of the 24 was again filled with struggle but I made it.  At the end of my route, I arrived back at the apartment I was staying in totaling about 1.4 miles, passing the one mile challenge (1.4 miles, Odometer = 80.7 miles). It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, physically.

Back at the room, I stretched for 2 minutes and continued my routine.  I did 2 sets of 24 dumbbell rows (12 each arm, 48 total) using a full backpack as weight, stretch.

Daily Priority #2 - Spiritual Health

I read the Faith ND daily passage out loud to myself.

I set my alarm for 4 minutes of walking mediation and 4 minutes of sitting meditation as I continued my meditation practice. Using my stress eraser, I began my 4 minutes of walking meditation (three, 8 foot sections).  I discovered a new trick to get my old stress eraser to track well.  I turned it on and started a session, then ended it.  I started a new session, and presto!  It worked well.  At the end of the 4 minutes I scored 5 points.  After walking meditation, I did 4 minutes of sitting meditation.  I sat in the presence of God with no agenda, but my mind kept trying to wander to the work I wanted to do on Intentionality Ink.  Tough to focus.  At the end of the 4 minutes, read a total of 23 points, 18 more for sitting.   (Point Count = 168).  It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, spiritually.

Daily Priority #3 - Intellectual Health

I continued writing a chapter entitled "the Russian visa debacle." (words written 331, Word Count = 859)

Reward

Reward time = breakfast of oatmeal and a day of working on my laptop using my fitdesk (13 miles, Odometer = 323).  It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, as a rider.
