Month 2, Day 46

Daily Priority #1 - Physical Health

Today I woke up after a great sleep and was well rested since I went to bed early.  Since I have become a morning person, I had agreed to go on a morning trail run with a friend.  I put on my running shoes (my stimulus), running shorts, and arm warmers and gloves.  I did a warm up routine of 35 jumping jacks and a couple minutes of stretching.  After a quick drive to the trailhead, I was outside in the chilly Spokane morning air.  We took off to go running.  As I ran I noted the alongside the frozen prairie grass.  At the end of my route, I arrived back at the car again passing the one mile challenge (5.8 miles, Odometer = 90.4 miles). It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, physically.

Back at the apartment, I stretched for 2 minutes and continued my routine.  Yesterday was an upper body day so today was a lower body day.  I did 2 “sets” of each movement.  2 sets of 12 squats (24 total), then stretch. 2 sets of 24 lunges (12 each leg, 48 total), then stretch. 2 sets of 20 “breaths” of planking, stretch.

Daily Priority #2 - Spiritual Health

No Faith ND daily passage today, it is Saturday.

I set my alarm for 4 minutes of walking mediation and 4 minutes of sitting meditation as I continued my meditation practice. I continue to enlist the services of my stress eraser. During the 4 minutes of walking meditation (three, 8 foot sections) the sensor acted like it was tracking but when I finished it wasn’t.  I scored 0 points.  Next, I did 4 minutes of sitting meditation.  At the end of the 4 minutes, the stress eraser on read a total of 12 points, 12 more for sitting (Point Count = 207).  It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, spiritually.

Daily Priority #3 - Intellectual Health

I continued writing a chapter entitled "the Russian visa debacle." (words written 153, Word Count = 1724)  I didn't do this in the morning and it was BRUTALLY difficult to do it in the evening, thus on 153 words.  Lesson learned. Hopefully...

Reward

Reward time = breakfast of eggs and toast and a day of working on my laptop using my fitdesk (16 miles, Odometer = 359).  It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, as a rider.  For perspective Washington state is 360 miles across.
