Month 4, Day 88

Daily Priority #1 - Physical Health

Exercise: I continued with my fitness epic today as I struggled to wake up.  My body was sore both upper body from my workout yesterday and lower body from a day of downhill skiing yesterday.  I had slept well, but I had also stayed up way too late playing board games and, therefore, my disposition of being a morning person was again tested.  Awake while the rest of the house slumbered, I was still able to sneak in a meditation and writing before putting on my running shoes (my stimulus), arm warmers, running shorts, and earmuffs.  I did a warm up routine of 35 jumping jacks and some stretching.  I ran up the same snowy, wintery road that I had run up yesterday in Big Sky, MT.  The difference today was two things.  First, half way through the run my lung stopped hurting despite the 0 degree temperatures.  Second, I added on two "extra" driveways of running to get up to one mile.  My route allowed me to pass the one mile challenge (1.0 miles, Odometer = 167.7 miles). It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, physically.

Fitness: Back at the condo I am staying in, I stretched for 2 minutes before continuing my routine.  Yesterday was an upper body day so today was a lower body day.  I did 3 “sets” of each movement.  3 sets of 11 squats (33 total), then stretch. 3 sets of 16 lunges (8 each leg, 48 total), then stretch.  3 sets of 20 “breaths” of planking, stretch.  I can do all of this without needing a gym.  One significant (and encouraging) reflection is that I have noticed a distinct definition in my quad muscles around and above my knees.  There really are serious results going on!

Daily Priority #2 - Spiritual Health

Spiritual Reading: No Faith ND today, it is Saturday.

Meditation: I set my alarm for 4 minutes of walking mediation and 4 minutes of sitting meditation as I continued my meditation practice using my stress eraser.  Right before I began my walking meditation, my stress eraser gave me the low battery warning and turned off.  I dug 2 new AAA batteries out of a bag and replaced the old, dead one before continuing.  During the 4 minutes of walking meditation (two, 6 foot sections) the sensor with new batteries tracked extremely well and I scored 15 points.  I transitioned from the hallway to a bathroom because I heard the rustling of other waking up.  In the bathroom I finished by doing 4 minutes of sitting meditation focusing on "will you follow me?" and I finished with a point count of 33, 18 more for sitting (Point Count = 1108).  It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, spiritually.

Daily Priority #3 - Intellectual Health

Writing: I continued writing about"Nomadic Exhaustion" today (words written 509, Word Count = 12,164). It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, as a writer because there is always time to write.

Daily Priority #4 - Emotional Health

Inspiration: The Simple Dollar shares 10 Pieces Of Inspiration (Inspiration Shared = 17). It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, inspirationally.

Contemplation: I reflected on past Reminiscinable Shared Experiences (RSEs) when I wrote 17 BC. It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, in my reflections.

Reward

Reward time = breakfast of egg casserole and an afternoon of cross country skiing.
