Month 6, Day 167

Daily Priority #1 - Physical Health

Exercise: I continued with my fitness epic after a restful night's sleep.  When I woke up, my body was not really sore from yesterday although I could tell it had been used.  Being a morning person I did a meditation and some reading before put on my running shoes (my stimulus), running shorts, arm warmers, and thin knit gloves.  I did a warm up routine of 35 jumping jacks and some stretching inside before I stepped outside.  Yesterday had been like a warm spring day with birds chirping and today was the opposite.  Large, wet drops of snow-like rain fell from the sky and the cold temperature struck at my t-shirt.  I took off running through a suburban neighborhood on the western edge of Spokane, WA.  As I ran, I was chilled by the wind.  And running up a hill I found myself to be both winded and cold.  It was running hard so I could finish as quickly as possible.  At the end of the route, I was able to again pass the one mile challenge (1.3 miles, Odometer = ---.- miles).  It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, physically.

Fitness: Back at the apartment that I have been working at, I stretched for 2 minutes before continuing my routine.  Yesterday was an upper body day so today was a lower body day.  I did 3 “sets” of each movement.  3 sets of 15 squats (45 total), then stretch. 3 sets of 20 lunges (10 each leg, 60 total), then stretch.  3 sets of 25 “breaths” of planking, stretch.  I can do all of this without needing a gym.

Daily Priority #2 - Spiritual Health

Spiritual Reading: Faith ND

Meditation: I set my alarm for 4 minutes of walking mediation and 4 minutes of sitting meditation as I continued my meditation practice using my stress eraser.  During the 4 minutes of walking meditation (two, 6 foot sections) the sensor tracked well and I scored 16 points.  During the 4 minutes of sitting meditation, I my focus was distracted and the stress eraser showed those results.  I finished  with a point count of 28, just 12 more for sitting (Point Count = ----).  It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, spiritually although I do note the paradox of public spirituality.

Reward

Reward time = breakfast of a bagel and a banana.
