Month 7, Day 187

Daily Priority #1 - Physical Health

Exercise: I continued with my fitness epic after a solid sleep.  I slept in a little longer than I would have preferred becuase I was up later than I would have preferred, but I made it work.  I was a little bit sore from yesterday's workout but nothing too bad.  Being a morning person I went directly to work putting on my running shoes (my stimulus), and running shorts.  I forgot to do a warm up routine of 0 jumping jacks and zero stretching and only remembered once I had already stepped outside into the cool, sunny Great Falls, Montana morning.  I took off running and immediately realized I had forgotten to warm up but noted the serene air with no cars heard in any direction so I just kept running.  I relished the cool morning air and the silence.  I even rain to the post office to drop off 4 letters that needed to go out in the mail.  At the end of the route, I was able to again pass the one mile challenge (1.8 miles, Odometer = ---.- miles).  It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, physically.

Fitness: Back at the house I am staying at, I stretched for 2 minutes before continuing my routine.  Yesterday was an upper body day so today was a lower body day.  I did 3 “sets” of each movement.  3 sets of 16 squats (48 total), then stretch. 3 sets of 20 lunges (10 each leg, 60 total), then stretch.  3 sets of 25 “breaths” of planking, stretch.  I can do all of this without needing a gym.

Daily Priority #2 - Spiritual Health

Spiritual Reading: Faith ND

Meditation: I set my alarm for 4 minutes of walking mediation and 4 minutes of sitting meditation as I continued my meditation practice using my stress eraser.  During the 4 minutes of walking meditation (two, 6 foot sections) I scored 12 points.  During the 4 minutes of sitting meditation, I was mentally distracted and I finished with a point count of 24, 12 more for sitting (Point Count = ----).  It amazes me how far I have come from where I started, spiritually although I do note the paradox of public spirituality.

Reward time = breakfast of cereal.

Journey far,

― Joe
